Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Trucks made their successful debut this weekend at Crandon International Raceway, putting on a six-truck exhibition event with numerous drivers from the Traxxas TORC Series involved. The event was won by B.J. Baldwin after a last-lap incident between series founder Robby Gordon and R.J. Anderson.

Short bios on the six drivers involved:

  • Gordon needs no introduction, both as series founder and a well-accomplished off-road, NASCAR, and IndyCar driver. Gordon has seven SCORE Off-Road championships, three Baja 1000 wins, and multiple stage wins in the Dakar Rally.
  • Race winner “Ballistic” B.J. Baldwin has four off-road championships to his name. He currently ranks third in the SCORE Desert Championship in his Trophy Truck, only 17 points off of the series lead.
  • R.J. Anderson began his off-road racing career at age 14; now at 19, he races in the Pro Lites category of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. He leads that championship by 55 points through 12 of 15 rounds with four race wins and eight podiums.
  • Nick Baumgartner began racing trucks only recently after a long and accomplished snowboard career, including a gold medal in Snowboard Cross at the 2011 Winter X Games. After taking MORR’s Rookie of the Year award last season, he’s currently ranked sixth in TORC Pro Lites.
  • “The Wildman” Adrian Cenni runs in the Pro 4×4 class of the TORC Series, where he currently ranks fifth in points with two Oakley Bomb Awards and a best finish of second place multiple times. He has 11 career wins in the class and many more podium finishes.
  • Justin Matney is owner of RPM Offroad, the team that puts together Gordon’s numerous off-road programs. As co-driver for Juan Carlos Lopez, Matney took first place finishes on both Saturday and Sunday in Class 6 of this year’s SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.

Future developments on Stadium Super Trucks will be forthcoming as the series continues to finalize its 2013 schedule.
