No. 26 Scott Trawlers Saab 9-3, Scott-Eklund Racing

STANDINGS: 8th, 38 points

POSITIVES: The series’ elder statesman has shown on multiple occasions that he can be just as competitive as drivers half his age, and in his own equipment, no less. He took a fourth place finish in the season opener at Charlotte, and given the nature of his wounded car, scored an impressive sixth place in New Hampshire.

NEGATIVES: Many Travis Pastrana fans were pretty angry with Scott after their incident at X Games, when Scott rear-ended an early-braking Pastrana to send both drivers into the wall. Texas also proved a disappointment, as Scott made the final but crashed out after a hard landing on the jump caused steering failure to his Scott-Eklund Racing Saab that sent him into the tire wall.

OUTLOOK: Scott has assembled a top-notch team for himself and teammate Samuel Hubinette, and both drivers have shown that the Saab is one of the top two cars in the GRC. They’ve made seven out of a possible eight finals between them, and Scott’s only miss, at X Games, still resulted in an 11th place finish. As a driver, Scott has proved himself one of the more competitive entrants in the series, while as an owner, he has to be happy with the strength that both of his team’s cars have shown.
